Let’s Support the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa!

Despite the summer sun, sizzling barbeques, and beach days, prepping for back to school is close to popping up on everyone’s to do list. For some students in Ottawa, preparing for back to school is not as easy as just popping out to grab all the necessities. Many local youths in vulnerable areas across our community do not have the means to access what they need to set them up for a successful school year. Here at Merivale Vision Care, we believe every youth - regardless of circumstance - should have the opportunity for a great upcoming school year and have a bright future ahead.

We are so proud to share that we are partnering with The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa (BGCO) again this year to help prepare local kids in need for a successful 2023-2024 school year. We began supporting the BGCO in 2020 in response to an increased need for support during the pandemic. When you purchase your glasses with us during the months of July and August, we will donate $10 from each pair sold to the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. Simply by ordering your new eyeglasses and sunglasses, you are helping set local students up for success at school.

The BGCO provides many youths across the city with a safe space and free access to life-changing programs designed to drive personal development. They also provide opportunities to ensure each child has a chance to experience summer camp. Please visit the BGCO’s website to read more about their amazing initiatives. With your help, last year we were able to provide approximately 250 youths with excellent quality, stylish backpacks filled to the brim with all the supplies they needed for a successful school year. This year, we aim to fill 350 backpacks for students in grades 7 to 12. A tall order, but we are confident we can do it!
